DOCTORS & PATIENTS | IN COLOUR! (GPTV)
In the second half of the “Doctors & Patients” series (presented in colour), we have carefully highlighted a few clips from the single videotape for your viewing pleasure below. Viewers can observe and examine eighteen documented consultations between genuine medical practitioners and simulated patients. These are not staged interactions but genuine medical practitioners engaging with simulated patients, providing an authentic and insightful look into the dynamics of doctor-patient interactions.
The University of London’s Audiovisual Centre gave us the tape you will watch. However, the Centre has been closed for a few years now. The videos cover various scenarios, including difficulties in reaching a doctor, getting medical help, concerns about obtaining medication, offering patients a fresh perspective to help them make their own decisions, lack of information, receiving incorrect information, and a tendency to rely on physicians rather than local pharmacies. Additionally, we have made the full-length video available for those interested in a comprehensive viewing experience.
Since the making of this recording, times have changed. What are your thoughts on this?
"Discover the perfect dramatisations for those fascinated by analysing the dynamics at play during consultations."
About the 'Doctors & Patients - in colour' tape:
This unique videotape, one of the first educational programs to be made in colour, is a captivating historical document. Despite the unique format, The Audiovisual Centre at the University of London, 11 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3RA, made the tape available upon request. The department has since closed down. However, The Audiovisual Centre at the University of London, which created the tape many years ago, assigned the copyright to Mental Health TV for us to use. For more information on vintage equipment, please visit www.cardinalbroadcast.co.uk for user manuals and hire prices.
