It's OCD Awareness Week! What great timing for us to finish shooting our short film about OCD!
There are a lot of misconceptions about OCD. Most people have heard the term, 'OCD', but not everybody knows what it really means, and it is often misused.
Somebody who has OCD may be faced with questions such as, "How do you have OCD if you're not even tidy?", because of the misconception that that is what OCD is all about. We often hear 'OCD' being used as an adjective to describe needing things to be neat or clean. While some people who have OCD may struggle to leave the house unless it's clean or tidy, this is not the same as enjoying tidying, or just being good at keeping things tidy. This is also only one way that OCD may affect somebody, and a lot of people are surprised to find out that it can affect a person in a lot more different ways.
