Mental Health Television is a charity that makes programmes for staff and students in the mental health field and others with a professional interest, such as Human Resources staff. Some of the titles are also of particular interest to patients, families and friends.
They can be used in a number of ways, some are documentary in style whilst others more in the form of an illustrated lecture. The patient interviews can be used as a lecture aid. Students will also find them of great value directly and can access the common and uncommon. In addition, unique to video, is the opportunity to see progress over time.
All of the DVDs have some extra material, sometimes offering a more detailed explanation. We also offer written material and posters which can be accessed from the DVD or via the website.
Probably the most effective way of managing the resource is to have the titles available from a library. Rather than fall asleep over a book in the library on a Friday afternoon, time can be better spent watching one of our award-winning educational titles.
We all learn in different ways. Video can be a powerful ally in any educational endeavour. These titles will help and give a new meaning to the phrase we all want to hear from students;
“Oh, now I see what you mean!”
